About Me

My name is Elsa Hines and I’m a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (MT 4617). I’m also a wife, friend, sister, daughter and mother to two young girls. I’m also a life-long advocate of counseling, having experienced the life-changing power of Marriage and Family Therapy first-hand before embarking on the road to becoming a therapist. My interest in the field was cemented by an experience I had several years ago that was fruitful in ways other therapies had never been. I credit this to the focus on solutions that sets Marriage and Family Therapy apart from any other type of counseling.

I started my professional career in finance in New York City prior to being a Marriage and Family Therapist. I migrated south with my husband seeking sunshine and the warmth of family to settle in Miami.

I struggled with infertility before giving birth to my two daughters via IVF. This experience shaped me in ways that I would never have predicted, and has become one of the important cornerstones behind  my practice. With a personal conviction in the power of Marriage and Family Therapy, I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate the challenges of modern day life.

From the mental and emotional strain of infertility to marriage counseling, to struggles with bullying and anxiety, today’s world is loaded with unprecedented changes and causes of stress. All of these pressures take a toll on mental and emotional health, and I am committed to helping my clients manage and overcome them to achieve more joy, happiness, balance, and peace in their lives.

As a therapist, I strive to facilitate an understanding of the insights behind the behaviors my clients want to change. I’m here to help my clients reach their own “AHA!” moment by prompting them to glean insights into the patterns and behaviors they want to change. I will help them explore these insights in the context of their relationships, tapping into their own innate curiosity. I will ask the tough questions, but will always come from a place of warmth and ease.

I’m originally from Caracas, Venezuela, and graduated with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. I completed my undergraduate degree in Business Administration at Georgetown University. I offer bilingual therapy (Spanish) and have a working knowledge of French.
