Family Therapy

You know what they say, you can choose your friends, but you can’t choose family. Family can be your closest ally, protecting you against the uncertainties and insecurities of the outside world, making you feel safe and at peace. At the same time, it can also be a powerful source of stress and pain, especially when disagreements and tensions arise.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I will try to make sense of the dynamics that exist between the members of your family and understand how the connections influence your life. I will help identify the problem in the context of the family system, and help deepen your understanding of the problem so that you can better learn how to manage it. Some of the topics that I cover in Family Therapy include unresolved anger in families, parenting, immigration and refugees, financial distress, caregiving for later life adults, loss of a child, and stepfamilies, among others.
